I like to give myself a chocolate chip cookie from time to time as a little gift of kindness, but I usually try to make my own. I'm partial to dark chocolate and whole wheat flour, as well as shortening that is free of trans fat. Also, it cuts down on my indulgence when I have to work for it. But tonight I made a pleasant discovery. When I'm too sad to make my own, or too afraid to have an entire batch laying around, Kashi's TLC Oatmeal Dark Chocolate cookies are a nice substitute.
