Tomorrow is the Fourth of July, and I'm not feeling very festive. I've watched some good documentaries this year (Jesus Camp , So Goes the Nation and Who Killed the Electric Car? ), but last weekend we watched Why We Fight , and it is unforgettable. I'm posting the trailer here in the hopes that everyone I know will be persuaded to watch the film in its entirety.
I've read too much about life under Soviet rule to not be very, very concerned about the growing lack of distinction between that and our current political and social environment. I wish we had been better custodians of the liberty we were entrusted with; I wish we had chosen to be a stand for peace in the world instead of domination. I'm afraid our opportunity to do so has long passed.
