Since her first self-published project in 2008 (Don't Write: A Reluctant Journal), Jen Lee's offerings to nourish and inspire have grown and expanded to fill a catalog with books, apparel, audio programs, home study courses and now film.

Her artisanal press approach creates an environment in which projects are driven by artists' vision, not markets, resulting in unique and exquisite limited-edition works and an appreciative and loyal audience.

Building direct relationships with readers online creates a sense of immediacy and transforms the author/audience dynamic into one of fellow travelers on parallel journeys, and this partnership is deepened during in-person gatherings throughout the year.

This year marks a shift in her typical event calendar as Jen turns her attention to her first short documentary project: Indie Kindred, a profile of creative collaboration among independent artists.

Her interest in audio storytelling has stretched beyond the stages of New York City, where she is known for poignant tales of ordinary moments that change everything, and is the driving passion behind Retrospective: The Podcast. Also available in iTunes, Retrospective offers her community of creative pioneers in-depth interviews and stories from other off-map thinkers and makers: artists, authors and visionaries.

Even though she lives in a city known for an almost manic velocity, Jen's world is one in which there is always time to have a friend and to be a friend, to hand-write letters and send good mail, to walk her children home from school and catch all their stories from the day. Creating her way reaches beyond the realm of work--it means crafting a beautiful life.
