Podcast: My Creative Winter

The Portfolio Project has launched me into a season that I try to avoid hanging out in too long--one that feels like winter to my spring-lovin' soul.  How about you?  Are you walking  a leg of the creative journey that you wish you could just turn away from already?  What part pushes your buttons?  What part is an invitation to expand your capacity? And how, oh how are you guarding your sanity in the meantime?  (If you're just joining the Portfolio Project and have no idea what I'm talking about--don't worry.  Give it a month, then re-listen.)

Podcast: A Word of Caution

On this day, the first Monday after the new year, let's check in with each other.  Are you off and running?  What are you creating?  I woke up feeling thankful for the focus of the project this morning, feeling like I have lots of room to write this morning because of all I'm Not Doing.  I'm going to write poetry and stories, and try to contain my impatience until my new camera is delivered.  I'm going to face what's really been stopping me, and I'm going to work my way through it.  And don't worry--you will, too! It takes my whole being to stir up all the sentences, all the ingredients that make for a feast of the soul. But my hand just keeps moving, stirring, until the aromas and warmth fill me with just enough joy and satisfaction. Just till I know that the soup has to be poured out and served. --Gypsy Girl's Guide
