speechless

This is something I wrote about a month ago and found in my journal today. I guess it's a good thing I write these things down since I have no recollection of them afterwards. Beyond this, I'm a bit speechless today.

trembling dismay
day upon day
what shall I say
have I been silent so long
I lost my heart song

to sing
to live generously
life begets life

to speak
at first in whispers
then with arms thrown wide
head back to the sky
shout I'm awake, I'm alive

to turn back the tide
with a word
with a sigh
awake from your slumber
don't hold back any longer

speak
live courageously
life begets life
