Creative Consulting and Story Coaching
We run a full docket of our own creative projects over here at JLP, but one thing that brings us vitality and joy is working with others to bring their own projects to life.
We consult with kindreds who have their own movies - books - communities - daily practices or revolutions to ignite, because we have done these things and learned many lessons that save our partners frustration, expense, and time spent hitting dead ends or long detours (aka "learning the hard way"). One specialty inside this umbrella of consulting is story coaching. I work with people I believe in who are either adapting stories from one medium to another or crafting original narratives.
One recent project was for Anne Heaton, whose new album release included a gorgeous songbook with stories behind the songs. While we were producing her official music video for "Let Yourself Be", Anne and I also edited her writings on the soulful origins of her To the Light album for this new presentation--clarifying and highlighting each story's essence while preserving all the lyricism inherent in her voice.
