INTERIOR - LIVINGROOM - DAYTIME
NATASHA sits in front of a computer scrolling through images of beautiful creations made my artists and makers.

NATASHA
(speaking aloud to herself)
Wow, these makers are incredible! Such gorgeous works…I wonder if I could make something like that…

NATASHA is still sitting in front of a computer scrolling through images of beautiful creations made my artists and makers.

NATASHA
(mutters to herself)
Wow, these makers are so talented. I could never make anything like that….

Doubt as a Superpower?

We’ve all been there at one time or another. We’ve visited that island of doubt in a boat so small it threw our dreams overboard. However, doubt is actually a unique superpower and if harnessed before it reaches a tipping point, it can serve you quite well.

A Well Developed Eye

You see, as a Doubtful Creative you have developed a good eye for what you like without even realizing it. By looking at the works of artists, writers, dancers, makers, etc. you begin to develop your distinctive style. As you look at other’s work, you develop an understanding of what you like and what you don’t like so that by the time you begin to create, you know which medium sets your heart on fire. From that point forward, you begin to figure out how to put things together in a way that allows your authentic voice to soar.

Managing Your Superpower

The most important part of managing this superpower is knowing when to stop looking and start making. Observe yourself and try to connect with that moment when inspiration feels like it’s taking a negative turn. Next month, we’ll talk more about how to manage your superpower so it propels you toward your dreams.
