So many creatives I know go through periods of transition where they move into a new medium and are suddenly doing work in a realm they aren’t known for. This can stir up questions of identity not just for the creators themselves, but the perception or concern that their audiences or communities will feel confused, as well.
Yet experience shows that creativity is creativity, and for most of us it flows through our lives in a myriad of ways. Cooking dinner, assembling a day’s outfit, or Making Jewelry Now.
Our friends can be a real source of grounding and reassurance in these times. Just to hear, “That totally makes sense,” or “Trust yourself—I do!” can be the small dose of belief that keeps us going into the new or unknown.
